Slavery chronicles

Always fascinated by the concept of human slavery and how it worked. How was it own a human and see him/her as just a property. How was it to be owned, rightless by law, being bought and sold side by side to other animals. How was it to be part of a community where, by pure luck mostly, you might own every thing and live as a king without any effort, or you might own nothing even yourself So Here I Imagine a world where slavery became legal again. I write some times as a master/mistress, sometimes as a slave and some times as just an observer. I will even share some posts of interest, and write some true historical excerpts about slavery. Excuse my English, I am not a native speaker P.S. It is pure fantasy

Small slave traders tend to sell their products in local outdoor markets beside other small traders and farmers selling their livestock.

The setting is simple. Wooden wedges are firmly places to the ground and the slaves are leashed to them with short ropes, the slaves hands are also tied behind their back. This way the slaves are safely leashed and can't be stolen, in addition they are displayed properly for potential buyers view. Some traders as the one here are kind enough to to out some old towels beneath the animals to protect their legs from being scratched from long stay in this position, it is merciful for the slaves and also keep their sale price as some buyers would use any apparent injury in haggling and reduce their price.

Buyers can ofcourse at any moment ask the trader to unleash a slave for full inspection, afterwards the slave will be leashed back and the haggling will begin till reaching an agreement of sale or not.

As you see, the slaves are accepting their status, leashed to the ground by their neck, hands tied and kept kneeling for hours, sold side by side to goats and cows and free people passing around inspecting them as needed, for the slaves it is natural to them to be there, and even better  form their perspective to be sold this way than in open markets where big traders display tens of slaves and don't hesitate to use the whip to discipline the animals, beside hundreds of hands who inspect slaves daily, usually window shoppers. Of course the trader would some time use his crop to beat them for discipline or to make them obedient, but they don't do it frequently and use it only when needed, in the end they are slaves and need to be disciplined.

For traders, it is cheaper to sell the slaves this way, they don't have to pay a rent for the ground to display their merchandise, this helps them to keep all the profit.

For the buyers, they can buy quality slaves for much cheaper price, the slaves are obedient, well fed and maintained usually, and they have the time to inspect the slaves thoroughly before buying, beside helping local business to grow instead to paying money for big traders. Those small traders are middle class people as most of the buyers who are kind and struggling to make good money to raise their kids.
